If you find yourself on hard times, or you simply want to get rid of that horrible day job and stay home with your loving, sometimes annoying, always awesome kids, there are so many....no really...so many ways to make money from the comfort of your computer.
You have to find what works for you and your lifestyle. If you don't want to sit on your phone all day as a virtual assistant, then don't. Find what works. Period.
Check out a few of these sites to find small tasks or jobs to make a few bucks.
- Elance.com- This is a freelance job website offering positions lasting from one day to long term. There are two payment options once a job is completed: hourly or fixed rate. Be careful what you apply to, make sure the client is verified and his/her payment method is on file. Once you find what you want, apply. They may ask you to interview, if so, be professional. Be honest. If you continue to use Elance and apply often, you could have a high rating and find premium jobs.
- Odesk.com- Another freelance job website similar to Elance. Same deal. Find jobs, apply, be careful and selective. You could get paid doing anything from research to reviews to article writing.
Speaking of article writing. I HIGHLY suggest a website that can make you some money and gain some popularity in your profile:
Helium.com- This is a site near and dear to my heart. I have been writing content for Helium since they opened their site many many years ago. This site has come full circle. They offer a marketplace where you can compete for paid jobs. They have contests on everything from articles to poems. And you can make REAL money. You create your profile and post articles based on need. Or you can create your own article and write about whatever you want. It's a great site for people who want to share info AND writers wanting to make some cash doing what they love. Check it out!
Survey sites are HORRIBLE. However, I normally would not post about them but there is ONE that is legitimate and you can actually make money without any scams:
Opinion Outpost- It will take you about 2 hours to make $10, however, it's doable. Just make 100 points then you can cash it in PayPal for $10.00. Spend a little time, take surveys and it can bring you a few extra dollars in your pocket. The surveys range from 1 minute to 90 minutes depending. It's worth it once you try it. And you can make some quick cash.
I spend my days finding new ways to make money online. My next post will be about eBay and how to be successful.
Now go make some money!!!

Moms-Let's Make Some Money Online Part 2
So, I hope you had a chance to check out some of my tips from Part 1 and are making a few dollars here and there. You have to remember to be patient; you won't make enough to pay your mortgage in 5 minutes. You have to find what works for you and your schedule and go with that.
I will give you a few more tips on making money in Part 2. Remember, all my tips may not pertain to you or your lifestyle. If that's the case, it's okay. Not everything works for everyone. Use what works and pass on the other info to your friends.
Let's start with Amazon. Oh yeah, Amazon will pay you and pay you pretty well. There are 3 great avenues to explore with Amazon.com.
Amazon Mechanical Turk- this is a worker's marketplace for human minds. Meaning, there are several jobs listed paying anywhere from .01 to 75.00 each. The jobs range from taking an opinion survey to performing a task. Once you sign up as a worker, you can start applying to these HIT's and start making some cash. Will it be overwhelming quick cash? Nope. But it will get a few bucks in your account and once you start to know your way around the site, you can make more by taking the best jobs to make the most profit.
Amazon Associates- This is part of the Amazon.com selling world, but instead of selling your own stuff, you sell theirs. Meaning, if you have a blog, website or any other type of media spot, you can list their ads/products and get paid if people buy them from your site. You are an affiliate (I will talk more about affiliate programs later in the post). You get credit for helping them sell their products. If you know a friend or anyone who buys from Amazon.com regularly, they can click on the link on your site and buy through you. Same price they'd pay on the site, but you get the credit. Everyone wins.
Amazon Seller Account- Do you have DVD's, books, video games and other items lying around in your garage taking up space? All you have to do is apply for a Seller account on Amazon.com and start selling. Amazon, like eBay takes a profit of course, but it's not much and you can make a decent profit of your own if you price it right. Do your research first. That's key with any selling engine.
Next, we will discuss Affiliate programs. You can link up with several, and I mean several, different Affiliate programs to boost their ads and make some cash. Have you heard of the Pay Per Click deal? It's pretty much the same. Mostly, the difference is that many of the affiliate programs pay based on sales, not clicks. If a person clicks on your link and buys their product, you make a profit. Search Google for good affiliate programs like Bidvertise and Vigilinks and you are in business!
I will post more about Pay Per Leads and more resources about affiliate programs on my next blog!
I hope this helps!!!

Moms- Let's Make Some Money Online Part 1
I thought about some ways I could make money online as a stay at home mom. Here are some surefire ways I have found that makes me money staying at home:
- eBay: I know that you've heard it over and over. But it's true. There is money in eBay. You have to find your niche. Meaning, what works best for you. What I have found works best for me is designer jeans. Oh yeah, 7FAMK, Miss Me, Rock and Republic, etc. Those sell like serious hotcakes. How do I find them, you ask? Thrift stores, yard sales, etc. In most cities, thrift stores have a 50% off day of the week. Go to the stores, hit them first thing in the morning to avoid other eBayers. Check out the jeans. Make sure they are free of rips, tears and stains. Check the authenticity of the labels and seams. If they look legit, buy them. The rule of thumb is don't spend more than you are SURE you can earn. So do your eBay research first and see what they are selling for. eBay has a great app that you can use right there in the store. Remember: make sure you check the sold items versus what's selling. It can be deceiving.
- ChaCha: Okay, you won't get rich, but it's something extra for your pocket. Become a ChaCha associate and answer quick questions and texts for a few pennies an answer. Smart workers can make plenty each day and get answers super quick. Get to ChaCha-ing!
-Key for Cash- Oh yeah, you sure can. If you got some mad typing skills, you can key for CASH. Go to www.keyforcash.com and sign up. It's a simple form and once approved, you can spend all day keying as long as there is a need for work. As long as you can handle the tedious nature of the job, you can cash in!
- Affiliate Programs- I will go into more detail on my next post about PPL and Affiliate Programs. But if you have a website you can use for advertising, it may be worth it to check out my next post....coming soon.
This will work when you partner with Amazon, eBay, Apple, iTunes, Audible, AbeBooks, Samsung, etc.
Here are a few tips, more to come. Check out my next post!!!

Inspired by PVP, thank you!
I have been writing for years now, but nothing ever like this; a blog. It's scary and exciting all at once. Writing about my life with my boy is a thrill. I want to share the awesomeness of my little man, Kai with everyone. He is the absolute best thing I ever made...no seriously.
Anyway, why did I start a blog? It's simple. My boyfriend got me watching a channel on YouTube called Prank vs Prank (PVP). What does pranking have to do with my blog? Nothing, lol. However, we started watching this channel religiously and haven't missed a video since. These guys are normal people vlogging about their lives on their second channel BF vs GF. It's actually very entertaining. I love the fact that they record their lives, their daily activities, they read fan mail on camera and even have a channel for their beloved kittens. So, thanks to PvP, I have the inspiration to start blogging about my life, mainly, my life with my awesome little boy and my often frustrating, and sometimes lovable boyfriend.
With all that said, I was driving Kai to daycare this morning and he is in a "car" and "truck" phase. Whenever he sees each, he calls it out. At 7am this morning, I thought I would be slick and say, "Look Kai, a bus"! and point at a bus. Little did I know, my child gave me a "duh" moment. He responded, "Yeah mom, bus." First, when did I become "mom" instead of "mommy" and second, did he just "duh" me? Seriously, shaking my head....

Dogs=Chairs for children
I took my lil man, Kai to visit my best friend and her family this past weekend in Orlando. We got in the house after not seeing her for a few months, and of course, my boy is older and learning more and more every day. As soon as we walk in, her dog, Thor, barrels over to Kai and proceeds to lick his face over and over while wagging his monstrous tail excitedly. Thor, weighing in at about 150 lbs is a Rottweiler/Lab mix. He's a big boy living up to his name. Kai, weighing in at about 45 lbs is a 2 year old maniac/love of my life. It went to the floor and Kai giggled as Thor licked all the cookie crumbs off of his face.
After the two have bonded, Thor plants himself on the floor next to the couch. Instead of sitting on the couch next to mommy, Kai decided he was going to make a chair out of the oversized Thor and did so for the next 2 days.
So of course, on the way home all I hear from the backseat is, "Mommy, I want a puppy."

Welcome!
Welcome to Mommy Knows Best!
I thought about the best topic I could use to start a blog because a) I like to write and b) I like to talk, so I considered all the topics I know the most about which narrowed down to the following:
- Managing a medical practice (can be a boring and redundant topic to discuss on a blog, although quite informative)
- Being a mommy to a wonderful, crazy and sometimes difficult 2 year old (my favorite topic ever)
- Playing video games (yes, I play video games when I have time, but I'd rather play than blog about it)
So, I decided to start a blog about my favorite thing in the world; being a mommy! And of course, mommy always knows best. Therefore, I will ad tons of tricks I've learned along the way, tidbits and funny adventures I have had thus far in my journey as a mommy.
I also know how to make money from home. I like to share my ideas with other mommies so that hopefully we can all find ways to make money staying home.
I hope you like my blog, posts and find me on Facebook and Twitter soon....
